About | Lola Mae Bova, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2005 after a short illness. She was born May 3, 1921 in Jasper, Oh., where she was raised. She was athletic as a young woman and lettered in basketball at Piketon High School. Having worked at Timken Roller Bearing, Columbus Coated Fabrics and Huntington National Bank, Lola retired from the City of Grove City in 1983 after more than 15 years of service. Lola loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was the queen of gag at Christmas. She was also a great practical joker whether she was the victim or instigator. Lola was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Philip Howard Bova, 1 year ago, 3 brothers and an infant great-grandson. She is survived by sons, Philip Gary (Mary Ann) Bova of Grove City and Richard Scott (Rhonda) of Hilliard; grandchildren, Anthony (Dr. Luci Dimick) Bova of Columbus, Carol (Phil) Louden of Westerville, Timothy (Sherry) Bova of Grove City, Christian (Kelly) Bova of Grove City and Traci (Scott) Stocker of Columbus; great-grandchildren, including Jacob Bova, Stacy Bova, Amber Bova, Meredith Louden, Nicholas Bova, Abby Bova and Mitchell Louden. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Clara Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City and 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral on Saturday. Pastor Ed Akers officiating.
