About | Nettie McAllister, 64 Retired Educator Nettie Marie McAllister, 64, a former Pike County resident, died Sunday, Feb 19, 1995, in Columbus. She was born April 24, 1930, in Pike County, Ohio, to the late Harry D. McAllister and Goldie Merritt McAllister of Piketon. She was an educator with 32 years of service, and was a retired elementary school principal from the Columbus Public School System, a graduate of Ohio University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and was an active volunteer at the Children’s Hospital and Columbus Public Schools. Along with her mother, she is survived by a brother, J. Earl McAllister of Piketon, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Trainer of Waverly and Mrs. Charles R. (Mary) Radford of Piketon; two nephews, James H. McAllister and Dr. John Radford; two nieces, Mrs. Ann Trainer Spicer and Mrs. Mary Ruth McAllister Leslie; two grandnephews, Justin Spicer and Matthew Radford; two great-nieces, Amanda Leslie and Jackie Spicer and many close friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow in the Smith Hill Cemetery. February 20, 1995 Portsmouth Daily Times |
