About | Paul Edward Barker, 80, of Jasper Road, Piketon, Ohio died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born April 8, 1934 in Pike County, Ohio the son of the late Floyd and Emma Steiner Barker. On February 13, 1954 Paul was united in marriage to Betty Jean McKnight Barker who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vicki Hobbs and husband Willie of Waverly, Ohio and Sherry Ehrenberg of Piketon, five grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Hobbs, Jared Hobbs, Joseph and Melissa Hobbs, Jenna Hobbs all of Waverly, Justin Ehrenberg and Julian Rodriguez of Los Angeles, California, six great grandchildren, Emma, Eli, Evan and Molly Hobbs and Dillon and Clayton Howell, as well as two special boys who were like grandchildren, Izac Dale Ward and Markham Stulley, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded by three brothers, Richard, Ronald and James Barker. Paul was a retired owner and operator of Barker Trucking. He was a member of High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union in Chillicothe, Ohio and a member of the Ohio Valley Truckers Association. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastor Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. The family wishes to thank Paul’s caregivers and nurses at the SOMC Hospice Center.
