| About | WAVERLY – Bernice Imogene Woods, 85, formerly of Piketon, wife of the late Orville Dean Woods, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home in Piketon. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. CHILLICOTHE: Bernice Imogene Woods, 85, formerly of Piketon Ohio died 8:10 p.m. 7 April, 2014 at Westmoreland Place, Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born 9 June, 1928 in Piketon the daughter of the late Lowell Huffman Strutt and Alma Pearl (Smith) Strutt. On 17 November, 1955 she was united in marriage to Orville Dean Woods who preceded her in death on 2 May, 1983. Surviving are daughters, Denise Baxter and husband, Stan of Ray, Ohio and Carol Fyffe of Florence, South Carolina and a son, Gregory Woods and wife, Amber of Piketon; eight grandchildren, Amber Dyke and husband, Todd, Jeremy Baxter and Kyle Baxter and wife, Hypashia, Brandon McAllister and wife, Rion, Jana McAllister and Brock, Noah and Rory Woods; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Roush, Piketon; brother-in-law, Roger Woods and three sisters-in-law, Mary Strutt, Leuedda Harrington and Catherine Clipner. Bernice formerly attended the Bethel Christian Church and was a homemaker. Her parents, husband, two brothers, Preston Strutt and Lester Brewster and a sister, Clarice Lawson preceded Bernice in death. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, 14 April, 2014 at the HOWE WHEELER BOYER HORNBACK FUNERAL HOME in Piketon with Delmar Burkitt, Officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio. Friends may call at the Funeral Home in Piketon from twelve noon until the service hour on Monday.
