| About | Phyllis Geneva (Locke) Brodess, 61, of Seal Ave., Piketon, Ohio passed away at her home Tuesday, June 16, 2009 following an extended illness. She was born November 25, 1947 in Piketon, daughter of the late Virgil P. Locke and Esther (Hines) Locke. She was united in marriage on March 18, 1966 to John David Brodess who survives. Also surviving are son, Daniel (Stephanie) Brodess, Piketon; two daughters, Rebecca (Mike) Rigsby, Waverly, Ohio; and Jennifer (Gary) Legg, Waverly; three sisters, Geraldine (William) Arrowood, Dayton, Ohio; Madalyn (Robert) Day, Grove City, Ohio; and Patty (Howard) Loucks, Columbus, Ohio; a brother, William (Beulah) Locke, Stoutsville, Ohio; three grandsons, Gerad Brodess, Zane Brodess, and Garrett Legg; two step-granddaughters, Samantha Miller and Morgan Miller; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, two sisters, Ramona Locke and Carolyn Davis, and two brothers, Virgil Locke, Jr. and Ronald Locke preceded Phyllis in death Phyllis was an employee of Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon for 31 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday June 19, 2009 at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon.
