| About | Preston L. Havens, 71, of Urbana, died at 11:45 P.M. Friday December 23, 2011 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. He was born February 11, 1940 in Piketon, OH, a son of Wesley & Hazel M. (Zimmerman) Havens. He worked at Honeywell (Allied Signal-Grimes) and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post #120, VFW Post #5451, Moose Lodge #1215, AmVets #121, Eagles Lodge #979 and attended the Urbana Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife Susan, step-son Marshall C. (Rhonda) Sizemore of Raleigh, NC, brother Larry Mack (Fran) Havens of Chillicothe, OH, sisters Wilma Ritchie of Piketon, OH, Margaret (Harley) Dewey of Piketon, OH, Nancy (Jack) Shepherd of Piketon, OH, Barbara (Robert) Barker of Piketon, OH, Dorothy McCorkle of Chillicothe, OH, Betty (Jay) Thomas of Waverly, OH, brother-in-law Anthony J. (Janice) Paudicz II of Mt. Sterling, OH, three step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Hazel Havens, brothers Roy, Robert and Dale and his first wife Carol Lynn Havens. The family will receive friends 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Kevin Horrigan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. Memorial contributions may be made in Preston's memory to The Community Mercy Hospice, 444 West Harding Road, Springfield, OH 45504-9964.
