| About | Ralph Junior Smith, 83, of Black Run Road, Chillicothe, Ohio, died 12:59 p.m. Tuesday, 4 March 2014 at the home of his son. He was born 3 May 1930 in Elm Grove, Ohio the son of the late Joseph and Lovena (Gilliland) Smith. Surviving are a daughter Pam Corcoran of Chillicothe, son, Ray Smith and wife Janice of Chillicothe, his companion, Norma Jean Wilson and her children of Chillicothe, two grandchildren, Shawn (Kim) Beeler of Londonderry, Ohio and Kelli Beeler of Chillicothe, several great grandchildren and a sister, Lillie (Esther) Weeter and husband Carl of Lucasville, Ohio. His parents, two sisters, Allie Mae Smith and Geneva Keppler, granddaughter, Shawna Smith preceded Ralph in death. Ralph was a member of the Mt Tabor Community Church, retired after 37 years with the Goodyear Tires, working at the Piketon location and in later years moved to the Chillicothe burliness, a graduate of Piketon High School, class of 1949 and a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served from 1951 to 1953. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, 8 March 2014 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Pastor Rick Hartley, officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday. |
