About | Rena Lou Smith, 64, of Dunn Road, Piketon, Ohio, passed away Friday April 15, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon. She was born March 1, 1952 in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of Joan Pettit Heimerl of Piketon and the late John Henry Smith. In addition to her mother, Rena is survived by a daughter, Debbie Goodbar and husband Darren of Charlottesville, Virginia; a son, Andrew Smith and wife Amy of Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren, Quentin and Lilia Goodbar, and Mavrick, Araya and Kenley Smith; one brother, William “Bill” Smith and wife Cherry of Piketon; a sister, Jonda Smith and husband Rodney Adams of Paducah, Kentucky; step-mother, Carol Smith of Piketon; two step-sisters, Judy Fyffe and Phyllis Wells, and two step-brothers, Ed and Lee Dunham. In addition to her father, Rena was preceded in death by her step-father, John "Jack” Heimerl. Rena was a retired cook and a bus driver for the Scioto Valley Schools in Piketon. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 19, 2016 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastor Barry Penn officiating.
