Grover Lee Blankenship, 93, of Beaver Pike, Waverly, Ohio went to be with his Lord at 10:31 a.m. Friday 23 November 2018 at Pike Adena Medical Center, Waverly, Ohio, Grover was born 13 June 1925 in Bushton, Illinois, the son of the late Noah Blankenship and Margaret Elizabeth (Childers) Blankenship. On 5 April 1947 Grover was united in marriage to Robertta Mae (Birch) Blankenship who preceded him in death on 4 January 2011. Surviving are a son Rev. G. Donovan Blankenship and wife Mary of Ashville, Ohio, two daughters, Jeanetta Sowards and Ramona Litteral and husband Wayne both of Waverly, 8 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. His parents, wife, granddaughter Julia Mae Born, 2 brothers, Robert and Edward Blankenship and a sister Ruby Blankenship preceded Grover in death. Rev. Blankenship was a member of Bethel Chapel CCCU, worked in Church ministry and preaching for over 70 years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, 29 November 2018, at the New Covenant CCCU in Waverly, with Revs Ron Reece, Mike Holbrook and Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt Post # 142, Waverly. Friends may call at New Covenant CCCU from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and hour prior to the service on Thursday.
