Richard Layne Criswell, 63, of Derenberger Road, Piketon, Ohio, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his home. He was born June 5, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of the late Ralph Criswell and Eileen Ruth Blake Criswell. On July 24, 1985, Richard was united in marriage to Bonnie Kathryn Walker Criswell who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Kathy Deanna Crapitto and husband James of Huntsville, Texas, Lisa Melissa Clark of Huntsville, Stella Eileen Hill and husband Jeremy of Piketon, eleven grandchildren, one great granddaughter and two sisters, Jane Crabtree and husband Dave of Lucasville, Ohio and Sarah Kephas of Lee Summit, Missouri. In addition to his parents, a son Aaron Malachi Criswell preceded Richard in death. Richard was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a life member of DAV Chapter 28, Waverly, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday April 5, 2013 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Phil Crabtree officiating.
