Roger Lee "Pap" Gragg, 68, of Springfield, OH passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Ohio State Medical Center after losing his battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He was born September 19, 1943, in Pike County, OH to Rodney and Bonnie (Strutt) Gragg who preceded him in death. Roger grew up in Pike County and graduated from Piketon High School in 1962. He spent most of his life in Springfield where he was employed by Cooper Energy (White Motors). He retired in 2000. Roger loved being with his family and friends, watching NASCAR racing and old westerns, rebuilding old cars with his son, and "tinkering" in the garage. Roger is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Betty (Merritt) Gragg, two sons, Lee (Debbie) and Ron (Lisa) Gragg, his two loving grandchildren, Brittney and Alex Gragg. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (Max) DeMent, his brothers-in-law, George (Minnie) and Barry Merritt, and his sister-in-law, Katie (Glen) Baughman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews (Jan Hampton, Sheila Brugger, Gregg DeMent , Jason, Rex , Tom, and Eric Merritt, Andrea Liming, Erin Mustard, Mark and Jeff Baughman, and their spouses and families). The family will receive friends at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, August 19 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The family will also receive visitors on Monday, August 20, at 12:00 p.m. at Bethel Church of Christ in Christian Union in Piketon, OH. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Steve Obrien will be officiating. Roger will be buried at the Bethel Cemetery.
