About | Funeral services for Ronald (Ronnie) Eugene Mustard, 19 of Rt. 1, Piketon, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howe Co. Funeral Home in Piketon, with Rev. Ernest Groom officiating. Burial followed in Mound Cemetery in Piketon. Friends called at the funeral home from 4 until 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday. The young Piketon area man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 4:30 p.m. Monday, while visiting at the home of his uncle, Hiram Tackett at the southern part of Piketon. Pike County Coroner Dr. Joseph Benutto, reported that the 1974 Piketon High School graduate, reportedly borrowed a .22 calibre rifle from a relative, saying he was going hunting. Witnesses stated Mustard walked out of the house, into the yard, and shot himself in the head. The fatality was investigated by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Piketon Police and the Pike County Coroner. He had been working recently as a station attendant. Born on April 15, 1956 in Ross County, at Chillicothe, he was a son of Ronald E. Mustard, now of Florida, and Eileen (Tackett) Mustard of Louisville, Ky. In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elaine (Keesee) Mustard, of Rt. 1, Piketon; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Coy, and Miss Pamela Mustard; and three brothers, Rickey Mustard, Gary Mustard, and Pat Mustard, all of Louisville, Ky.
