About | triumphant on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Heartland-Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, Ohio, with Rev. Jack F. Heinsohn, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may visit Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 and Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Boyer Funeral Home, 125 West Second Street, Waverly, Ohio, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. She was a retired teacher from Piketon Local School District with 30 years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, American Association of American Women, Wilmington College Alumni Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Parthenia Chapter Order of Eastern Star #124, and Pleasantville Garden Club. She had a great love for her family and for genealogy; she wrote "A Silcott Family History, 1735-1992" and an autobiography called "Saturday's Child." She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Eugene) Davis, of Pleasantville, Ohio; grandchildren, Julia (Victor) Broussard, of Pleasantville, Ohio, and Michael E. (Melody) Davis, of Columbus, Ohio; 4 great-grandchildren, Jamie (Oliver) Cook, of Athens, Ohio; Stephen Broussard, of Pleasantville, Ohio; Julia Grace Davis and Seth M. Davis, both of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Ernest (Virginia) Silcott, Jr.; sister, Viola Copeland; sister-in-law, Marie Silcott, all of Waverly, Ohio; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Blackburn; parents, Ernest and Frances Silcott; brothers, Henry, Robert, Clyde Raymond and David M. Silcott; and special friend, Harvey Vance.
