About | Veatrice Kay Cade, 57, of Boswell Run Road, Pike-ton, Ohio, died 9:50 p.m. Wednesday 31 March 2010 at the Pike Community Hospital Emergency Room in Waverly, Ohio. She was born 12 June 1952 in Grayson, Kentucky the daughter of the late Corneilus Mays and Fannie Ganette (Thompson) Mays. On March 31, 1986, She was united in marriage to Melvin Ray Cade who preceded her in death on July 1, 2005. Surviving are four stepsons, James Frances Cade of Piketon, Kenneth Cade of Willow Wood, Ohio, Dale Cade and Junior Cade of Ironton, Ohio, 4 step-daughters, Lohamma McKnight of Coal Grove, Ohio, Jackie Payne, Loretta Cade and Eva Sexton all of Iron-ton, Ohio, two brothers, Neil Mays and wife Melodie of Ironton, and Stan Mays and wife Tammy of Piketon, four sisters, Paula Beavers, Retha Godwin and husband Tom, and Rhonda Parker all of Pike-ton and Angie Miller and husband Johnny of South Point, Ohio. In addition to her parents, a brother, Thomas Dwayne Mays, preceded Veatrice in death. Veatrice was a member of Soul's Harbor Church at Wakefield, Ohio, a homemaker and a 1971 graduate of Piketon High School. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday 3 April 2010 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, with Rev. Kenny Jiles, officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery at Waterloo, Ohio.
