| About | Viola Mae Barker, 72, of Piketon, Ohio, died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Viola was born July 18, 1933 in New Boston, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph Fieldon and Laura Ann (Mawk) Roe. On February 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to Ronald K. Barker, who preceded her in death on January 8, 1994. Surviving are 7 sons: Michael Wayne Barker, Danny Ray (Marjorie) Barker, David Allan (Jackie) Barker, Jeffrey Lee (Sandra) Barker, Stephen D. Barker and Gary Joe (Lori) Barker, all of Piketon, and Gregory Lee (Patricia) Barker of Circleville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 sister: Joann (Gordon) Johnson of Waverly, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, Viola was preceded in death by a son: Darrell K. Barker; a grandson: Bradley Wayne Barker; 2 brothers: Harrison Roe and Donald Roe; and 2 sisters: Betty Hopkins and Mary Louise Roe. Viola was a homemaker and a graduate of Piketon High School, Class of 1950. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday April 24, 2006 at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Barry Pelphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
