| About | Viola Vivian Copeland, 93, formerly of Copeland Road, Waverly, OH died 2:00 A.M. Sunday 12 December 2010 at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, OH. She was born 20 April 1917 in Piketon, OH the daughter of the late Ernest Otto Silcott and Frances Coreen (Gleason) Silcott. On 2 July 1942 she was united in marriage to Ralph Lewis Copeland Sr. who preceded her in death on 1 October 1991. Surviving is a son, William Ernest Copeland and wife Kathy of Waverly, OH, two daughters, Rita Ann Jones of Waverly, OH and Susan Jane Wishinsky and husband Neil of Brookline, MA, daughter-in-law, Pauline (Bates) Copeland, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ralph Lewis Copeland Jr., daughter, Joan Marie Palmer Goble, son-in-law, James E. Jones, grandson, John P. Jones, five brothers, Henry, Clyde, Robert, David and Ernest Silcott Jr. and a sister, Ethel Blackburn. Mrs. Copeland was a member of River Valley Community Church, retired Secretary for the City of Waverly and a farmer, member of the Womens Auxiliary, American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly, Member of the Waverly Garden Club, Volunteer for American Red Cross, Member of the Pike Community Hospital Guild and a former 4-H Advisor. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday 16 December 2010 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly, Ohio with Rev. Barry Penn, Officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may call at the funeral home 4 8 P.M. Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until the service hour on Thursday. |
