About | W. Gordon Williams, age 75, of West Second Street, Piketon, died 4:50a.m. Wednesday, September 12 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1925 in Pike County, a son of the late John B. and Chole Burkitt Williams. On January 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Lois E. West Williams, who survives. Also surviving are one son, John E. Williams and wife Marilyn of Waverly; one daughter, Marcia Brabender and husband John of Waverly; three grandchildren, Andrew Simpson of Grove City, Jill E. Williams and Lauren E. Williams of Waverly; and one aunt, Mary Dawson of Jasper. He retired as the assistant director of the Pike County Department of Human Services, was a member of the Piketon Lions Club, the state American Legion, was active in the Fourth and Mullin Church of Christ, was a radio and TV broadcaster for Piketon sports, and was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the south Pacific. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, September 14 at the Waverly Church of Christ on David Road, with Phil Foster, minister, officiating. Burial followed in Mound Cemetery, in Piketon, with military grave rite by American Legion Post #142 of Waverly. Memorial contributions may be made to the Piketon Lions Club, P. O.
