About | William Arthur Cooper, 84, of Third Street, in Piketon, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday in the Pike County Extensive Care section following a long illness. Mr. Cooper was a World War I Veteran, a retired school teacher, and had served in the Piketon Post Office before retirement. Born on March 14, 1893 in Pike County, he was a son Samuel B. Cooper and Effie Wiltshire Cooper. His wife, the former Carrie Tiffany, died in 1952. He was also predeceased by one son and one sister. His only survivors are three nephews, Franklin Willard Dixon of Marion, James Malcolm Dixon of Waverly, and Jack Weichman of Piketon.
