She was born in Columbus on November 15, 1950, to the late Russell and Ethel Weaver, and she attended Reynoldsburg High School. Karen worked for the Logan County Sheriff's Office for 25 years. During her time there, she was an accomplished expert in drug enforcement, undercover narcotics, crime scene investigation, and worked closely with undercover informants. She also worked on cases involving sex crimes, gang activities, and was instrumental in several murder investigations. She retired as a detective in 2005. Karen's work helped her to be a practical person, ready for anything, and her strength is a part of her legacy she passed on to her family. She was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth and Rickey Weaver. Karen loved to spend time and party with her friends, especially on their annual November 11 Girls Trip to Columbus. She also loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking them to special places and making them pancakes. Karen was very artistic, and she was gifted in crafts, drawings, and flower arrangements. She also loved Elvis music and live entertainment. A private memorial service to honor Karen will be held at the Weaver Family Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to Mount Carmel Hospice.
