About | Published: January 29, 2017 4:00 AM Peter D. Kletzien, a resident of Kent since 1988, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 27, 2017. Born in Indianapolis, IN on December 23, 1978, Peter and his family also lived in Homewood, Ill., and South Bend, Ind., prior to settling in Kent. A 1997 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, he also studied at Kent State Stark and Columbus Community College. Peter held nursing assistant positions in area nursing homes and more recently positions in manufacturing companies. Peter was an excellent athlete and through Kent Recreation programs, club soccer and in high school excelled at baseball and soccer. He was fond of the out of doors and had a passion and great ability for fishing and loved his several dogs that he had over the years (Isis, Wayne, Sienna and currently Quinn). Peter is survived by his parents, Ralph and Judy Kletzien of Kent; brother, William (SuzAnn) of Chicago; a niece, Maevis; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who experienced the love and friendly spirit Peter showed to all. Services for Peter will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017, 3:30 p.m., at the Kent United Church of Christ, 1400 East Main St., Kent, OH 44240. Friends may greet the family following the service at which time refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers the family asks that Memorial Contributions be made to: Kent UCC.
