About | Huber Heights John S. Sarson, 59, died June 26, 2009, following a courageous fight with cancer. He was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Detroit to Ronald S. and Ora Alice Chewning Sarson. His father survives in Bellefontaine; his mother died July 7, 2008. Mr. Sarson was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War, and served with the Air National Guard. He was an industrial hygienist. He was a member of the American Legion and the National Hot Rod Association. He enjoyed driving his hot rod to car shows and being with his family. Survivors include two sons; Ryan S. (Angela) Sarson, of Troy, and Bradley J. Sarson, of Huber Heights; a sister, Carol Wapplehorst, of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Cooper Wemmer, Aidyn Sarson and Hunter Sarson; and a niece, a nephew, and three great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jerry Wapplehorst. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Bellefontaine. The Rev. Tim West will officiate. Burial will be in the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery, Dayton, where a military graveside service will begin at 3 p.m. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
