| About | Barbara A. Brahm Obituary Barbara Ann Brahm, 73, of Austin, Texas passed away on April 24, 2024 in her home. Born on February 15, 1951, in Wooster, Ohio, to Melvin and Gloria Stocksdale, Barbara's life was a testament to her dedication to faith, family, and education. Barbara went to high school at Triway High School and graduated in 1969. She went on to earn a Bachelor degree in Home Economics Education and a Masters degree in Home Management from The Ohio State University. Her academic achievements were a prelude to a distinguished career at the same institution, where she served as an Associate Professor and Educator for 43 years. At the heart of Barbara's world was her beloved family. She is survived by Thomas, her husband of 42 years; her sons, Matthew and Mark; her brother Tom Stocksdale and sister Judy Villard; and her adored grandchildren, Maverick, Charlotte, and Tate. She is preceded in death by her father, Melvin Stocksdale, and her mother, Gloria West-Stocksdale. Barbara's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She found joy in leading Bible study groups, where her insight and compassion helped guide and inspire others. An exceptional baker, she delighted in crafting treats for her family, friends, and colleagues. Her love for baking extended into a part-time role at the local Whole Foods bakery in retirement, where she brightened customers' days with her care and kindness. The funeral service will be held at Park Hills Baptist Church on May 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Samuel Clintoc of Park Hills Baptist Church officiating. Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle, TX will be handling the funeral arrangements. |
