About | Charles R. Evans, 50, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2000, after a lengthy illness. He was born March 28, 1950 in Urbana, Ohio, the son of Dr. Charles E. Evans and Beatrice (Evans) Crabill. Chuck was a licensed optician and spent the greater part of his career in practice with his father and Dr. John Collins. A man of many interests and talents, Chuck was also a pilot and realtor. He enjoyed nature, fishing and the outdoors, and had many fond memories of his boyhood times at Camp Eberhart. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Brooke E. Evans; and step-sons, Shawn and Brian Crispin; his former wife, Louise Evans Lambert; his sister, Jane Bauer; and his niece and nephew, Heather and Chuck Bauer. To honor the memory of this loving and gentle man, a trust has been established in his name at his beloved Camp Eberhart. The family asks that expressions of sympathy and remembrance be made to The Charles R. Evans Memorial Fund, YMCA Camp Eberhart, 10300 Corey Drive, Three Rivers, Michigan 49093, so that other children may also benefit from the positive experiences Chuck enjoyed. Chuck was greatly loved by those whose lives he touched and will be truly missed.
