My brother Jim passed September 5, 2022. He had a successful career in the engineering field. He and his wife retired to North Carolina where he could be closer to his children and granddaughters and where there was an abundance of golf courses to enjoy his favorite pass time. Mr. James "Jim" Ronald Apel, age 82 of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 13, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles Earl Apel and Norma Hall Apel. Jim was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, a loyal Ohio State Buckeye fan, and an avid golfer. He is preceded in death by one son, Michael James Apel. Surviving is his wife, Marian Apel; two daughters, Kathy Apel and Beth Smith (Mike); one daughter-in-law, Stephanie Oropello; three granddaughters, Maya Apel, Molly Apel, and Brook Smith; one sister, Barbara Healey (Jim); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews |
