About Ada Moore Spillman, 102, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:16 a.m. Friday June 18, 2021 at The Oaks at Bethesda. She was born on February 6, 1919 in East Fultonham, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Dora M. Rhinebarger Moore. She graduated from Lash High School and then from Wittenberg University. She taught physical education at Roseville and South Zanesville High Schools for 8 years. She was an employee of Bethesda Hospital for 39 years, retiring as an office manager in 1982. Following her retirement she logged over 37,000 hours of volunteer service. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Timber Run Grange, Victoria Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, life member of National Letter Carriers Association, and life member of the State Teacher’s Association.

She is survived by a nephew Louis (Kim) Patterson , a niece Martha (Ken) Crist . Cousins Janet (Chris) Hardy , Carolyn (Jamie) Slate , Linda (Cris) Sidwell and all of their families .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Marie Patterson. A cousin Betty Rhinebarger Crown who was raised with Ada and Marie and Betty’s daughter Deborah Crown Ensminger.

Per her wishes, her body has been donated to the Ohio University Willed Body Program for medical studies. No calling hours or services will be held. She will be entombed at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
