About | Albert David "Chink" Watiker Jr., 54, of 3290 Bowers Lane, died at 11:15 am Wednesday, September 16, 1992, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, following a 1 1/2 year illness. Mr. Watiker was owner and president of Watiker and Son Inc., widely considered as one of the top minority business enterprises in the nation. Mr. Watiker was a member of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ. He was the first Equal Employment Opportunity contract compliance officer for the City of Zanesville, holding that position for three years. He then held the same position with the State of Ohio for nine years. He was an Army Reserve veteran and a member of various Civic organizations. Born May 16, 1938, in Zanesville, he was a son of Lora Bell Robinson Watiker Morgan of Glenford and the late Albert David Watiker Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rachel A. Carnes Watiker, whom he marred September 6, 1958, five daughters Leslie S. Watiker, Leisha D. Watiker, Lori A. Watiker, Lynn R. Watiker and Lachelle D. "Shelly" Watiker, all of Zanesville, one son and daughter-in-law, Lionel R. and Polly A. Watiker of Zanesville, four grandchildren, Derek, Chase, Lyndsey, and Brooke, three brothers, Earl D. Watiker of Colmbus, Dr. Raymond D. "Butch" Watiker and Richard L. Watiker, both of Zanesville, and three sisters, Mrs. Roger (Mary) Robinson of Powell, and Mrs. Arden (Ruby) Dennis and Donna Walker, both of Columbus. |
