| About | Alice Josephine Gitter, 81, Jersey City, N.J., died Saturday, August 21, 1993, in North Bergin, N.J. Born July 12, 1912, in Zanesville, Ohio, Ms. Gitter was a 1930 graduate of Zanesville High School and a 1934 graduate of the Ohio State University, where she was the first woman to earn a degree in ceramic engineering. She was also the owner of Engineered Materials, a division of Hi-Energy Materials in New York, N.Y. Survivors include one sister, Betty Gitter Kelly, niece, Addison Kelly Roverano, nephew, Scptt Cpmly Kelly, and one grandniece, Sylvia Roverano, all of New York City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Viola Scott Gitter, formerly of Convers Ave. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Fairfield, Conn. |
