| About | Andrea Raye Mateer, 77, of Fernandina Beach, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, following a devastating neurological event. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1948, Andrea was the beloved daughter of Marjorie and Andrew Ray Kolometz. After graduating high school, she moved to Florida, where she earned her MBA and began a successful career in Human Resources and Labor Relations with CSX Transportation.Andrea's life was a testament to resilience, hard work, and the pursuit of the American Dream. After retiring, she found joy and fulfillment through painting. Her artwork was exhibited at the Island Art Association, Fern and Dina's, and Shady Ladies Art Galleries. Andrea and her husband, John, shared a love of travel and art, and together they explored the world as accomplished artists. She leaves behind her loving husband of 20 years, John; daughter Amanda Bowen; son Aaron Clouse; stepdaughters Carrie Lambright and Elizabeth Hill; and granddaughters Cassidy Bowen, Gracie Bowen, and Emma Clouse, who will forever cherish her memory and the values she instilled in them. A Celebration of Life for Andrea will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home, 1305 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034. |
