About | Ann S. Kaplan, 81, of Zanesville, who taught in the city school system for 48 years, died at 12:45 pm Wednesday, March 19,1986, at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She taught at Grant School and Hancock Junior High and was the assistant principal at Roosevelt Junior High at the time of her retirement in 1974. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Seton Hall College in Greensburg, PA, and her Master's at Ohio State University. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Pioneer Historical Society, the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and the Ohio State Teachers' Association. She was born May 19, 1904 in Zanesville, a daughter of Joseph A. and Catherine Collins Kaplan. She is survived by two brothers, Dr Fred Kaplan of Zanesville and Charles E. Kaplan of Norris, TN; and one sister, Grace M. Kaplan of Zanesville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Adelaine Morris and one brother, Joseph A. Kaplan Jr. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery |
