About Ann Watson Raymond, 50 of Columbus, formerly of Zanesville died 6:00 PM Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Kobacker House Hospice, in Columbus surrounded by her family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Tuesday, September 12, 1961 in Zanesville, the daughter of Robert E. “Bob” Raymond and Elizabeth J. "Bettie"(Watson) Raymond.

Ann was a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelors Degree and received her Masters Degree from The University of Dayton in Education. She worked with special needs children at Ridgeview Middle School. Ann was very involved in community activities and organizations including groups close to her heart Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Impact, Jan Hurley Memorial Golf Tournament and her breast cancer support group. Ann was a volunteer with a horse rehabilitation ranch for special need students. She had a giving heart with a special place for all animals. She was a member of The Humane Society of The United States and Arbor Day Foundation. The Raymond Family would like to thank Ann’s close friends who unselfishly took time to care for her, to Grant Medical Center and to the staff of Kobacker House for the special care and comfort given to Ann and her family.

In addition to her mother Bettie, Ann is survived by Greg and Melissa; one sister: Kim (John) Markell of Pickerington; two brothers: Chad (Marcy) Raymond of Pickerington and Steve (Mary) Raymond of Richmond, VA; several nieces and nephews and her very special pet: Dakota.

Ann was preceded in death by her father: Robert Evans "Bob" Raymond who died February 11, 2012.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 PM. Private Committal Services will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park at a later date.
