Anna Mae Spencer, 92, of Duncan Falls, passed from this life on Saturday, February 18, 2023, surrounded by her family. Anna Mae was born on March 21, 1930, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Church) Long. She married the love of her life, Charles J. “Spence” Spencer on June 20, 1948. She retired from General Electric. She loved spending time with family, vacationing at Clearwater Beach in Florida, and Pipestem, West Virginia, attending auctions, working in her flowers, going out to eat, and watching her family participate in various sporting events. Anna Mae is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Spencer; granddaughters, Brianne (Adam) Shook and Dalynne Spencer; a grandson, Christian Cook; great-grandson and her pride and joy, Spencer Dee Shook; sister-in-law, Judy (Joe) Hale; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Charles J. Spencer, who passed away on April 29, 2008; her son, Ned Spencer, who just passed away on October 2, 2022; three sisters, June Lamay, Joan Campfield, and Patricia Pierce; two brothers, William Long Jr. and Ralph Long; and two sister-in-laws, Wanda Grant and Jerri Jones. Calling hours will be 11 to 1 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Jamie Harrop off |
