About | Arthur L. Joseph, 80 died at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov.20, 2003. He was born March 21, 1923 in Connersville, Ind., son of the late Jacob and Tillie Steinberg Joseph. Arthur attended The Ohio State University and before completing, he was called to World War II, Where he served three years in the European Theater with the Armored Engineers and also served in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Art became president of the Muskingum Iron and Metal Company. He also served in various positions at other companies, including director of The IH Schelzinger, Inc. of Columbus, past board member of First federal Savings and Loan, a founding director of Muskingum Co. Community Foundation, past Exalted Ruler of Elks Club in Zanesville, member of the board of Directors Of the Institute of Scrap Iron and Steel Inc. and that organization’s President of Ohio Valley Chapter, past trustee of the Muskingum Motor Club, 32 degree Mason, past president of the N’Nai B’rith, past member of Kiwanis, past board member of Beth Abraham Synagogue, past board member of Bethesda Hospital, member of Zanesville Country Club and member of Presidential Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was and avid golfer and enjoyed attending all his grandchildren’s Sporting events. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Shirley L. Okrent Joseph, His children Rob and Elaine Joseph and Jack and Bonnie Joseph, both of Zanesville, five grand children to whom he leaves his legacy, Frank and Dick Joseph. Josh Joseph, Noah (Lyla), Joseph and Melinda Joseph; a brother Stanley (Faye) Joseph of Phoenix, Ariz, and cousin Stanford (Rona) Joseph of Cincinnati, Ohio. |
