About | Bernard "Bud" J. Tharp, of Zanesville, died at 9:37P.M. Monday, September 20, 2021 at his home. He was born April 11, 1940, in Zanesville, a son of the late Ronald and Velvie Severance Tharp. He was the owner and operator of Bud's Auto Parts, Bud's Auto Sales in Zanesville and McConnelsville, and B&R Furniture in McConnelsville. Bud was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved nature, sports and all Ohio State teams and all teams that family attended, whether it was youth sports or college sports. He loved to golf and was a very good basketball player and athlete. He was a craftsman and If something was broken Bud knew how to fix it. Bud also enjoyed every opportunity to talk with his many, many customers and friends he made during his lifetime. Above all, he loved his animals, his family and especially cherished all of his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Marjorie Woodrow Tharp; six children, Julie (Travis) Sterling, David (Elizabeth) Tharp, Jeff Tharp, Todd (Diane) Woodrow, Jason (Jennifer) Woodrow, Megan (Sean) Horne; grandchildren, Nicholas (Taylor) Roberts, Ben (Lyndsee) Baldwin, Erin Woodrow, Brit Woodrow, Jacob Horne, Grace Horne, Mia Sterling, Catie Woodrow, Lexi Woodrow, Derek Sullivan, Jenna Sullivan, Jessica (Ryan) Binning, Adalyn and Ravyn Binning, Dustin (Shelby) Weaver; three great grandchildren, Piper, Colbie and Tucker Roberts. A sister, Viola Lynn, a nephew, Pat (Annette) Lynn, a niece, Cindy (Jim) Davis.
