| About | ZANESVILLE: Betty Louise Bailey, 89 of Zanesville, died 12:53 AM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a brief illness. She was born Thursday, April 16, 1925 in Zanesville, the daughter of Clarence McCarty and Mary Elizabeth (Mattey) McCarty. She was married on Saturday, December 16, 1944 to Rollo "Steve" Bailey who preceded her in death. Betty was a graduate of Lash High School Class of 1943 and Meredith Business College and spent over 50 years of her life in California. She was employed by General Telephone and Southland Corporation and owned and operated a Seven Eleven Store. Betty was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. Betty was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty is survived by one son: Gary Thomas Bailey of Mexico; one daughter: Allison & Lance Lynch of Nashport; six grandchildren: Wendy Partido, Shelly Ostling, Kelsey Bailey, Lauren Lynch, Lexanne Lynch and Larissa Lynch; three great grandchildren: Taylor Ostling, Emilee Bailey and Jake Partido; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband: Steve Bailey who died November 1, 2003; one sister: Donna Fewer and one brother: James McCarty. Betty will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Mount Olive Cemetery. |
