About | Carol Jean Derry, 90, of Zanesville, died Saturday, March 28. 2015 at her home. She was born January 5, 1925 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Lester and Erma Brennel Todd. She graduated from Lash High School in 1942, was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Carol retired in 1990 after 21 years serving as secretary at the Zanesville Board of Education. She and her husband Bob, loved to travel extensively during their years together. Surviving are a daughter, Karen (Jerry) Rank of Newark; a son, Ron (Pam) Derry of Baltimore; four grandchildren, Chad (Melissa) Derry of Kentucky, Brad ( Kristina) Derry of Baltimore, Krista (Karl) Kroll of Reynoldsburg and Geoffrey Rank of Newark; four great grandchildren, Griffen, Cassidy, Hunter and Colten; and her very special companion, Morrie Loebell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Derry, whom she married March 16, 1947 and who died December 13, 2005 and her two dear aunts, Lillian and Gladys. Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 12:00 Noon, April 6, 2015 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Pastor Geoff Geyer officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Bob at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville.
