Charles "Charlie" F. Glidden , 82 of Zanesville , OH died 5:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice Zanesville OH. He was born Saturday, January 08, 1927 in Malta OH. and worked for 50 years at the Zanesville Times Recorder starting as a paper boy while still in school and then retired as a foreman in the pressroom in 1992. He was an avid golfer and also served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Beatrice "Bea" J. ( Spratt ) Glidden of the home who he married July 11, 1950, a son Charles J. Glidden of Michigan and a step-son Jim (Nancy) Arnold of Zanesville. Grandchildren Jimmy Arnold, Kim (Ted) Ansel, Missy Arnold and several Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Lula P. Glidden. Funeral services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 155 N. Sixth St. at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 2,2009 with Rev. Kathryn Clausen officiating. Burial with Military honors conducted by the US Navy & local VFW Post 1058 will conclude at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. |
