About Charles Woodrow Love, 89, of Zanesville, died Friday, January, 26, 2007, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born March 1, 1917, in Zanesville, the son of Charles W. and Mary Elizabeth Krier Love. Charles graduated from Ohio University at Athens in 1941 and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service until he entered the Armed Forces. As a veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired as a colonel after 33 years of patriotic service to his country. He was employed by Masaic Tile Company for 24 years, managing both Zanesville plants and the Oxford Tile Plant in Cambridge. He was a licensed public accountant and was past president of the Ohio Public Accountantsl Association. He was an accounting instructor at the Ohio University-Zanesville for 16 years. He later served as the licensed administrator of the Helen Purcell Home for 14 years. He served as past president of the Zanesville City School Board and the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Love was recently honored for 50 years of service to the Bethesda Care System, and was a member of the F & AM Lodge of Amity. Chalie was a long standing member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church serving as Sunday school superintendent, menter of the administrative board, reguarly taught Sunday school and sang in the choir under the direction of his wife Charlotte's baton.

Charles spent many hours tending his beloved vegaetable gardens and had a keen love of music shared by his wife and inherited from his father. He relished traveling and spent many happy times with friends and family.

Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlotte M. Curtis Love; his sister, Virgina Parsons of Zanesville; three children, Christina (Greg) Love Hodge of Rincon, GA, Sue Brummet of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Daniel (Rebecca) Love of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Norsworthy, Beth Brummet and Liane (Greg) Brummet Jamason, Benjamin, Abigailm, Anna and Christopher Love; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Vivian.

Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
