| About | Clayton E. Norris, 86, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:55 p.m., at his residence. Clayton was born August 25, 1936, son of the late Clayton and Letha (Barnett) Norris. In addition to his parents, Clayton is also preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Norris and Joey Norris. Clayton is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 wonderful years, Bonita A. Norris; two daughters, Flora Bridges and Sheila (Ron) Branson; two sons, Jeff (Gina) Hardin and Mike Norris; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Gertrude Martin, Retha Chandler, Keith Norris, Steve Norris and Danny Norris; a host of nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends. Clayton was a graduate from Lash High School. He went on to dedicate many years of employment to Columbia Cement before taking his retirement. Clayton enjoyed many years of umpiring for various baseball games and tournaments. He always looked forward to his favorite event of the year: the Christmas gathering of his family, whom he loved deeply, at his home. Clayton's favorite pastime was sitting on his front porch, where he saw many friends and family pass by each day. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and much more. His earthly presence will be missed. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Genesis Hospice for their wonderful care of Clayton. You may call on the family Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services, in Zanesville. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, where Clayton will be laid to rest amongst loved ones. |
