Daniel 'Danny' G. McGee, born May 5, 1947 to the late Kenneth and Vinnie McGee in Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at his home surrounded by family and friends following a long illness. Danny was an avid fisherman and hunter. He graduated from Zanesville High School and was an honored Vietnam Veteran. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family that includes his wife, best friend and soul mate of 34 years, Barb (Smith) McGee of the home; two wonderful sons, Danny (Tina) McGee and Chad (Jenny) McGee, both of Zanesville; loving daughter, Janet Ray of Zanesville and two step daughters, Keela & Shawn Vaughn of Frazeysburg and Cindy (Ray) Hill of Zanesville. He was a very proud grandpa of l4 grandkids, Steven Wahl, Matthew Uphold, Kristopher McGee, Brittany, Taylor, and Dystani McGee, Kelci and Tiffani Ray, Paige and Mariah Hill all of Zanesville, Brandon, Haley, Emily Branch and Faith Groff of Frazeysburg. He was excitedly expecting his first great granddaughter 'Peanut' due in January 2010; one brother, Don McGee of Georgia; six sisters, Joe & Jerry Vanoster, Mickey Saad, Kathy Miller of zanesville, Molly & Mel Wood of Georgia, and Rose & Harold Brown of West Virginia and Francis Jones of Bryan, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Fleming of Ohio and Sharon Brost of Florida; three honorary grandkids, Cory Jones, Andrew Taylor and Leah Jasper. He will also be missed by his buddy and faithful pet 'Poopy Cat'. He had many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Jackie Lynn McGee; a brother, Kenny McGee; brother-in-law, Dick Saad and special son-in-law, Larry E. Hill. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. McGee's honor to Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St., Zanesville, Ohio. No service will be observed. Cremation has been chosen. |
