| About | MANSFIELD: Dannie L. Boetcher, 71, of Mansfield, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home. Born December 9, 1938 in Zanesville, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ethel (McCutcheon) Boetcher. He graduated in 1957 from Zanesville High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years. He moved to Ontario and worked for the Lipton Tea Company. Dannie then went into business for himself as a carpenter, having built many additions, decks, garages, and barns in the area. After retirement he continued to do wood working in his shop. Dannie leaves his wife, Linda; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Robert Vance of Virginia, Dawn and Scott MacMeans of Massachusetts, and their mother, Diane Mosher of Ashland, and Kristine and Matthew Geer of Ontario; five loving grandchildren, Kira Vance, Stephan and Isabelle MacMeans, and Colton and Mitchell Geer; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Hubbard of Ohio, and Connie and Roger McGee of North Carolina; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Ralph and Virginia Heischman of Westerville; numerous nieces and nephews; his protégé, Marc Shreffler; his many friends at Deckers; and his good companion, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Jack Sharp. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scout Troop #131 or the charity of the donor's choice. |
