| About | Darla A. Harlan, 57, of Zanesville, died at 10:43 PM Sunday Feb 8, 2009 at Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, Morrison House. She was born Dec. 28, 1951 in Zanesville the daughter of the late LaVern and Audrey M. Harmon Ankrum. Darla graduated from Zanesville High School the class of 1970 and from Ohio University with her teaching degree. She taught several elementary grades for West Muskingum School System. Darla enjoyed teaching and every child was like her own. She was member of the National Education Association, Ohio Education Association and First Christian Church. She loved reading her bible and attending bible study classes at church. Darla will always be remembered for her huge sense of humor. Darla is survived by her son: Kyah Brandon Harlan of Zanesville, cousins: Trent (Cheryl) Ankrum of Zanesville, Carol (Roger) Betts of Westerville, Yvonne (Henry) Smith of Pickerington and Larry Harmon of Columbus, step-children: Christopher Harlan of Zanesville and Julie Harlan of Columbus, dear friends: Linda (Bob) Roush of Zanesville. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Ron Harlan who died Dec. 6, 2004.
