| About | David A. Acheson, 53, of Dresden, Ohio died Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. Born June 16, 1959 in Zanesville he was a son of the late Howard and Christine (Marx) Acheson and was a 1978 graduate of Zanesville High School and MAJVS. He was a mechanic, retiring in 2012 from Licking County Transit Board. He was a member and a Deacon of Washington Township Baptist Church and was a former member and Deacon of Newark Bible Church. He enjoyed working on cars but he got his most enjoyment being with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Melissa C. (Anderson) Acheson whom he married June 9, 1979; two daughters, Jackie (Justin) Johnson of Dresden and Jennifer Acheson of Pineville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, McKinley, Alayna and Jackson Johnson; two brothers, Jerry (Barbara) Acheson of Blue Rock, Ohio and Steven J. (Mary) Acheson of Nashport; two sisters, Linda (Burris) Price of Vincent, Ohio and Karen (Art) Shumate of Cary, North Carolina; his mother in-law, Dorotha Graham of Dresden; four aunts; one uncle and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Christopher Riggs and Pastor Rick Searls officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery. |
