David A. Spears Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1975
Date of Passing Oct 06, 2020
About David A. Spears, 63, passed away peacefully at his Zanesville home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 while under the care of Interim Hospice of Zanesville.

David was born in Zanesville on June 18, 1957. He is the son of the late Robert and Madeline Mae (Hoppstetter) Spears. David previously worked for Muskingum Scrap Iron and Metal but was a self-made entrepreneur all of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, 4×4 cruising through every part of this country, was known for his love of the FORD truck over any other, and he loved outlaw country music. David could be abrasive and always, always, shot from the hip. He was stern in his ways, especially when it came to holding true to his own personal values. David lived his life with great integrity and always offered unrequited kindness and generosity to those in need without consideration to his own needs.

David enjoyed “having a cold one” after a hard day’s work. Perhaps most special to David were the many relationships developed over the years through time spent with the friends and family in his garage. David remained an honest and true, life-long friend to most who crossed his path in life. He will be missed dearly.

David is survived by his siblings Richard (Debra) Spears, Donald Spears, Patricia Bailes, Christine (Eric) Drozda, Robert Spears Jr., Melissa (Mike) Kuhn; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Pierce) Spears; his brother, Frank Spears; his sister, Barbara Spears, and his nephew, Billy Joe Spears.
