About | David B. Barnes, 47, of Nashport, co-owner and president of Barnes Advertising, died at 8:45 pm Tuesday, July 7, 1981 at his home following a six month illness. Mr. Barnes attended the Nashport United Methodist Church and was affiliated with the American Power Boat Association. In 1956, he won the title of World Champion in C-Service Hydro. He was a past member of the Zanesville Zoning Board of Appeals and a member of the Zanesville Jaycees. Mr. Barnes was born December 20, 1933, in Zanesville, a son of Sara Heagen Barnes of Zanesville and the late Beryl G. Barnes. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, the former Karen Hoadley; a son, David Douglas Barnes of Zaneville; a daughter, Cathie Ann Barnes of Columbus; a stepson, Douglas Lynn Swingle of the home; a stepdaughter, Deanna Leigh Swingle of the home; a brother, Roderick Barnes of Zanesville; a step-brother John Myers of Zanesville; a step-sister, Mrs. John (Gail) Prowell of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and a step-mother, Mrs. Bonnie Buschmann of Fort Lauderdale, FL Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. |
