About David C. Mayle, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. David was born on October 5, 1946, in Zanesville Ohio to Howard Urschel Mayle and Bessie Belle (Kennedy) Mayle. He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1964, then enlisted in the United States Army. During the Vietnam conflict, he was sent to Korea, due to his expertise with nuclear warheads. After completing his service, he returned to Zanesville and married the love of his life – Becky Norman. They were constant friends and companions for the next 54 years, until death did them part. He worked for the USPS for 37 years, until his retirement.

David had a passion for restoring older model corvettes. He also enjoyed many other projects, from restoring his home to building a pond. He was a jack of all trades in helping family and friends with their needs. He attended Union Tabernacle Church faithfully. He loved having his family around him, especially during the holidays.

David is survived by his wife Becky (Norman) Mayle; sister, Dr. Janice Mayle, Coates, Mack; Nieces, Stephanie, Stephlynn and Tischa Coates; aunt, Pamela Kennedy; sister and brother-in-law, Thomas and Linda Cromwell; sisters in law, Lyn Burke, Emmy Clayton; brother-in-law, Danny Norman; special caregivers and helpers, Tom and Melissa Cromwell, Tony Green (niece and nephew); several niece, nephew, cousins, friends and Church Family.

Special thank you to the Genesis CCU nurses, Mike and Nicole and the entire CCU staff for the excellent care and compassion they showed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Charles and Henrietta (Barnett) Mayle; maternal grandparents, Ezra Kennedy and Inez Smith Kennedy; niece, Melissa Coates; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

You may offer your love, prayers and memories to the family on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held at Union Tabernacle, with pastor Terry Newman officiating on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12 p.m. with services starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery
