About | David (Dave) Hiscock, 49, of Findlay passed away suddenly at 12:35 a.m. on January 1, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio while listening to a favorite band at a New Years Eve celebration. Dave was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio and graduated from the Ohio State University in 1984 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. He moved to Findlay where he led activities in high-reliability integrated circuit packaging and yield improvement at RCA Solid State and various successor companies, including General Electric, Harris, and Intersil. Recently, he was founder and president of Haric, LLC., a start-up company involved in high temperature integrated circuits for aerospace and other demanding environments in partnership with Case Western Reserve University. He was active with the Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter in Toledo where he served as President of the board for two years. He was involved in the Junior Achievement program while with RCA. Dave also taught in the Math department at Millstream Vocational School. Dave was an avid photographer, with a special interest in portrait photography and a special eye for panoramic landscapes. He was a fan of Formula 1 automobile racing, and traveled the world to attend favorite races. Dave loved dancing and music. He was active in a number of charities in the Findlay area over the years. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Jini), medical technologist at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville, who passed away in 2009; and his father, George, educator at Zanesville High School, who passed away in 1992. He is survived by his brother, Donald of St. Louis, Missouri. Dave married Phyllis Coburn on December 21, 2000; they later divorced and she survives in Findlay. The family will receive visits from friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Ave. Family and friends will gather at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to share words and memories of David's life. A private burial will take place in Zanesville. |
