About Marine Gunnery Sergeant David K. Schiele; 37, of 202 Nottingham Rd., Jacksonville, NC, formerly of Zanesville, died at 11:45 am Saturday, March 5, 1994, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA.
Sgt. Schiele was born Feb. 16, 1957, in Zanesville, He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was a United States Marine for 17 years. He recently finished three tours as detachment commander at the American Embassies at Reykjavik, Iceland, Nirobia, Kenya and Prague, Czechoslovakia. Also, he servied two tours in Okinawa. He was last stationed at New River, North Carolina Air Station.
Surviving are his parents, Marilyn and Raymond Touvell of Zanesville and H. Charles and Deanne Schiele of Terre Haute, Indianna; his wife, Donna Elizabeth Schiele of the home, whom he married July 14, 1982; three daughters, Amanda Rose Schiele, Maggie Elizabeth Schiele and Sarah Katherine Schiele all of the home; four sisters, Beth A. Taylor and Lou Ann Baker both of Zanesville, Rayna M. Stewart of Chillicothe and Audra M. Touvell of Delray Beach, FL; three brothers, Jeffrey M. Schiele and Charles K. Schiele both of Zanesville and Roger C. Touvell of Roseville; maternal grandparents, Meryl and Louanna Moyer of Zanesville; paternal grandmother, Mary Leigh Touvell of Pittsburgh, PA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were one brother, James William Touvell, one nephew, Douglas Brent Taylor, paternal grandparents, Rosalie and H. Charles Schiele and Rev. Raymond M. Touvell Sr. and Opal Mae Touvell.
David Schiele
