| About | Delber V. Henderson, 19, of 31 Richards Rd., a former Zanesville High School football player, died at 9:45 am Friday, January 1, 1960, in Good Samaritan Hospital where he had been a patient one week. Death followed a three month illness of leukemia. Henderson played tackle for the 1957 Zanesville High School football team and was a starter both on offense and defense as the Blue Devils lost only one game to finish runner up on the Central Ohio League. He was a sophomore at the time. Henderson was born in Wheeling. West Virginia, on October 4, 1940, the son of Wilbert Earl and Ethel Orr Henderson. He had lived in Zanesville for 17 years and graduated from Zanesville High School in 1959 and was a member of the White Cottage Church of the Brethren. Surviving besides his parents are three sister, Mrs. Frank Cottrill of 1380 Coopermill Rd., Mrs. Kennerth Watson of 1090 Greenwood Avenue, and Miss Sandra K. Henderson of the home: a brother, Wilbert Earl, Jr., of 460 White Oak Ave.: His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Henderson of 154 Fox Ave., and Mrs. Lulu Orr of 1330 1/2 Ridge Ave., and several uncles and aunts. Burial will be in Memorial Park. |
