Graveside inurnment services for Delores "Dee" Jane Fluharty, 81, of Newark, will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Columbus, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 16, with Rev. Mr. Deacon Robert Ghiloni officiating.Delores passed away at the Autumn Care Center on July 8, 2014. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on March 7, 1933 to the late Carl Fluharty and Frances (Abella) Border.Delores grew up in Zanesville, graduated from ZHS and attended college in Columbus. She then managed her family's Frost Top drive-in business in Zanesville. Delores lived most of her life in Apple Valley where she managed the Friendly Ice Cream in Mt. Vernon and later worked at Kenyon College. She loved celebrating special occasions and entertaining her friends and family. She is survived by her step-father, Loren Border of Ft. Myers, Florida; her brother, David (Janice) Fluharty of Newark; her sister-in-law, Carol Fluharty of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her best friend, Martha Roby and her brother, C. Thomas "Tom" Fluharty.
