About Dennis "Denny" M. McLoughlin, 80 of Zanesville passed away peacefully following a long illness at 5:44 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by family & under Shrivers Hospice care. He was born February 19, 1942 in Zanesville the son of William Leo "Mac" McLoughlin and Mary Louise (Hillis) McLoughlin. Dennis was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Zanesville Sertoma & served in the Ohio National Guard. For 41 years, he was the owner and operator of McLoughlin Auto Sales, where he proudly worked every day with his beloved son, Chad. Prior to that, he was a welder at Armco Steel and Stewart-Glapat. His hobbies included going to the races and working on racecars. His passion was helping his loving son, Shane, and grandson, Tanner, at the garage where he taught them everything he knew. Dennis found pure joy in racing and enjoyed supporting his grandchildren on the sidelines at anything they participated in. Despite his long battle of dementia, he never forgot his family whom he loved endlessly. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Anne (Goff) Mcloughlin whom was the love of his life that he married July 3, 1965; two sons, Shane (Tisha) McLoughlin & Chad (Debbie) McLoughlin; Grandchildren; Alyssa McLoughlin, Kirstyn McLoughlin, Tanner McLoughlin and Paige Edwards; his siblings; Charles "Charlie" McLoughlin, Alan (Diane) McLoughlin, Jane Mills, Martha Watson, Kathleen (John) Dinan, Marie (Bill) Miller and Virginia Porter; three sisters-in-law: Joan McLoughlin, Shirley (Dave) Coakley and Marge McLoughlin; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brothers; Bernard McLoughlin, Patrick "Pat" McLoughlin, Paul “Jake” McLoughlin, John A. "Ambrose" McLoughlin, two infant brothers, Donald & William McLoughlin, two brothers-in-laws: Steve Porter & Robert "Bob" Mills and sister-in-law: Beverly “Bev” McLoughlin. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Rev. JCP Sullivan as celebrant. Burial will conclude at the Mattingly Settlement Cemetery, Nashport, OH.
